Possible Update… Language Packs?

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Ok, I was just wondering as Sound Upload is a global based website, “what happens if a person from another country comes on here and doesn’t speak a single word of English?”. So I think I might impliment a massive upgrade to the site that allows visitors to select their desired language and view the site in that certain language - with the information of what language they’re picking to be saved in a cookie on their computer.

Good idea or not?

So far I’ve got the following languages to start on:

  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • Polish
  • Punjabi
  • Chinese
  • Japanese

That should be enough.

How Hecktic!

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I’ve just got access to the internet and “woah!” over 3,500 pending pieces of audio. So far I have done about 500 tonight and will be doing more tommorow. I must say though I have also been doing other stuff on the “hidden bit” of Sound Upload. These include me getting a list of any audio that has not been downloaded at all in a year and have been removing them. I have also wrote up a new FAQ and a TOS/Privacy Policy which I will also be launching tommorow.

I would like to, also, in the next few weeks (possibly) try out a brand new look to Sound Upload, as I’m not too sure if the dark colours suit it properly? What do you think? Should I stay dark or should I lighten it up a bit with a mixture of blue, green, red and white?

I have also, sadly, noticed that the “music” section of Sound Upload isn’t exactly going the way I thought it would, but then again I haven’t really advertised it… I have only placed it in the top bar of the site. Though if you are a unsigned artist or an unsigned band then register straight away and get yourself on Sound Upload and promote your music!!

That’s all from me now and I’ll probably update you all tommorow with more updates and modifications. Ciao!

Friday Update

Friday, March 28th, 2008

This Friday (28th March) Sound Upload will be having a few things changed. One of the main things is if a copyrighted piece of music has been uploaded and then removed (because Sound Upload cannot be hosting stuff like that!) then there will be a link and “redirect” on the “Error” page forwarding you to the main artists website, where you can purchase their song.
